Class 9: May 1
In this class we touched on a few different things.

- We started by reviewing our bass clef note-reading in the Level Up book.

- Then we played a few scales at the piano, from last week's handout. Homework for this week is a few more scales which should actually be easier that the last batch.

- I gave out a new page for our sight-singing anthology (see pp. 5-6 of this pdf). These introduce singing in keys other than C for the first time. Remember that we are using "moveable do" - so the first step is to figure out the key, by looking at the key signature, and then we'll be calling that key note "do" and so on. There is a brief example of moveable do in our solfege handout if this is still too abstract. Homework is to try your hand at melodies #15, 16, 18 and 20.

- I also brought out my laptop and showed off my Singing Cells program for PC. This could be a very handy tool for practicing your sight-singing and ear-training at home. Since then I've also made an instructional video which should be watcheable if you follow the link.

- Finally, we took another crack at the dotted "heartbeat rhythm" in our rhythm anthology. We could practice nos. 28 and 29 for next week.
